March Monthly Loot – Wave

v2 files update

Hi everyone 🙂 I uploaded a new version of the legs part in the links provided in your inbox. v1 is usable but will need some sanding in the inner portion of the belt to get the belly fitted.

On another note, I’ll be closing the suggestions poll for next month later in the day! Make sure to get your suggestions in the comment box and if you could add an image link to it that might strengthen the voting power!

//FINAL UPDATE

Wow it’s complete!! 😀 I’m so happy with how she turned out. This was definitely a fun and challenging project. I really like making hair and hers ended so beautifully. I’m so excited to see you all her print! Her files are 12 inches tall but you scale up/down as you please 🙂 Enjoy everyone! Thank you for voting for her! Also, thank you for those who took the time to go through the Patreon Survey. I received some really good pointers and will make sure to implement them next month. You guys really inspire me. I can’t thank ya’ll enough for your kind encouragements, feedback, and patience. Ya’ll are the best. I’m honored that you guys are here to support. Excited for the next one! Be sure to comment your suggestions for next month’s sculpt! I’m thinking of shortening the suggestions post to end soon so we can vote asap and I can work on it right away. Wave started roughly the 2nd week of March and it got me pretty rough with the time schedule. I’m hoping to start earlier for April 🙂 thank you again everyone!

Please check your inbox for your files 🙂

Had some really good progress this weekend. I was happy to make the clothes details, armor blocks, and hair while doing it all on stream. Have you checked our facebook page yet? Check it our here: Facebook Page. I was streaming there yesterday and got really good feedback and guidance from some of you here. I’m really thankful guys 🙂 Hope to catch you on stream more often.

For the Supervillains, you have your own personal stream that includes how-to’s and workflow. Plus Q&A. I’d really like to know your time and day preference so we can set it up nicely. Feel free to message me! Or perhaps i’ll release a survey form to fill out.

Finally got around to doing her costume and armor 🙂 I have to say it’s really fun. I was experimenting with different methods to do it and pretty much is a mix of two. Complete low poly start with Zmodeler or a dynameshed shape which then goes to ZRememsher then Zmodeler. I did some of this is our Supervillain Zbrush meet up. I have a question, what the best time for you guys? Please comment below with your timezone. I really want more people to join it 😀

I’ll be doing the back armor and hair tomorrow 😀 then proceed to the base. Excited stuff! How’s it looking to you?

//

Hi everyone 😀 took some time with the face and proportions on this one. It was challenging to get the right body type and facial features of Nadine. I think it looks nice atm though 😛 I’m going to continue making her armor and finalise that first before moving on to the hair and the base. She’s looking pretty right now. How does she look to you?

//

Hi everyone! I’d love to show you my work in progress with Wave 🙂 I always start with blocking out the entire scene. Bascially, all big shapes. Then will refine and refine by adding necessary details. I always do the pose first as that seems to be my greatest challenge.  I check if the anatomy needs revisiting every few moments.  Any feedback would be amazing!

//

Hi everyone 😀 Time to start and post my WIPs for Wave! My first step is to always make a planning sheet to prepare and be ready for sculpting. A few things I look for:

  • Main reference
  • Similiar images
  • Costume refrences
  • Base references
  • Body type reference
  • Main face reference
  • Texture references

I’m super excited to make her on this magnificent throne! I like her outfit and will using some scuba and swim suit references. Her armor and has few variations but I’ll try to stay true to the main reference. It’s her throne that’s a challenge. I want to make sure I instill the grand feeling when looking at this throne. I’ll insert the ocean feels with the pearls, clam, etc. Also, I got references for a fit surfer type of physique. I think it suits her very well. One of the Wave artists mentioned that he used Nadine Lustre as his face model so I feel like I should do the same.

Excited to get right on this! Give you an update soon!

March is here!

Hey there 🙂 I’m glad you’re here for March. I had a blast creating content this past first month of Patreon. Thanks for taking the risk with me! At first, I was seriously questioning if I would be able to do it. After a month, I’m honestly better because of the reception you’ve given and the encouraging words that has been shared.

I’ve had lots of thinking these past weeks on the possibilities and potential this platform can provide. A few thoughts come across like perhaps if this grows enough, I’ll be able to buy my own 3D printer, train to paint them, mold and cast limited copies and ship over some to you guys. I’ve been encouraged with how this past first month went and so excited to how this can keep going.

For those who renewed your pledge this March, and for those new, I welcome and appreciate you.. SO much. Lost dreams found its way to the path of hope again because of you.

I’m looking forward to making new stuff this month and give them to you first before anyone else online. Apart from the voted sculpt on the month (which is due tomorrow, cast your votes now), I’ll try to work on other things as well to make sure you get more than 1 statue a month. Also, I was thinking maybe in the next months, why don’t we try a duo statue? Something like a couple? Or fighting each other? Something we can vote on in the future. What do you think?

Again, welcome to the March content! Magik will be the first sculpt that you’ll get this month. For backstory of how she came to my plate, feel free to check out my post regarding her 🙂

Wave! A recently released hydrokenetic hero from Marvel Comics.

Origin Story
Pearl Pangan grew up by the beach on Mactan Island in Cebu, Philippines. She displayed a strong affinity for water at an early age, becoming a swimmer full of promise and Olympic potential; however, obstacles in life turned her aside from that path. While working at a fast food chain, Pearl was approached by a representative of the company AlonTech who had learned of her from her high school’s swim team records. AlonTech used Pearl’s swimming expertise for experiments.

Unbeknownst to Pearl, AlonTech were a nefarious organization which was eventually targeted by the Triumph Division. During the Divisions’ assault on AlonTech Lab, Pearl was drenched in water an exposed to energies of unknown origin, granting her the ability to control water. Pearl tried to hold off the attackers, but was taken out; eventually learning where AlonTech really stood. The group of heroes took Pearl in, and helped her figure out how to use her new powers, becoming a superhero known as Wave.

1st Month Feedback Form

Hi everyone 🙂 It’s nearing the end of the month of my first Patreon. I really appreciate each of you. You’ve taken a risk in joining me in this and I’d really like us to keep working together. This is why I made a feedback form. I’d love to hear your thoughts! It’s not too lengthy. I hope you take the time to fill it in so I would know what to keep doing, what to avoid, and how to improve.

Thank you so much!

Magik! Upcoming March Release

I recently finished a course from Game Art Institute (now, Vertex) called Digital Sculpting for Collectibles by Jack Mathews. I’m really serious about improving and making quality collectibles! The first online course I took was years ago from CGMA. Then I self-learned a lot and got help and guidance from my colleagues. I worked for a miniature company for a year until my client wasn’t very easy to work with. With collectibles though, I wasn’t too confident. But after taking this course, I was glad to know that my workflow is right and validated. All my self-study of reading, watching tutorials, etc, was worth it! The course was really insighful, helpful, and I really learned a lot of new things but it was expensive for me though. So this Patreon is really helping me a lot since I had to credit it first. I’d say… worth it! And thank you for your patronage. I feel like I can have the means to keep improving, take the right courses/classes, and keep my dreams alive.

Magik was my project during the online course and I really learned a lot about posing, making details, refining the figure, and hair… lots of hair. I chose her since the movie New Mutants will be out in April. She has a unique pose inspired from Frank Cho and a killer base inspired by Mico Suayan. Her pose was the hardest to do. The balance between being faithful to the reference and keeping her anatomically believable was a hard one. But with the help of Jack and my classmates I was able to work it out. Although I’ll add flames to her sword and details the base a little further, I’m happy with how she turned out before the class ended.

I’ll be giving her to all my Superheroes and Supervillains as the first release of March while the votes are being tallied from our monthly poll. After the votes are final on March 5th, I’ll work on the sculpt with the highest votes. As always, my Patrons get first access to anything being sold in any online store at an insanely cheaper price.

How do you like her? Have you commented your suggestion on our monthly poll yet? I’m excited to open the poll and start voting! I hope you are all happy about this February’s releases. Looking forward to keep working with you 🙂
